1 Understand the Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Before taking the exam, it is critical to go through the exam syllabus and pattern. Know the types of questions, scoring model, time limit, etc.
2 Create a Study Schedule
Now that you know the syllabus, your next step is to plan your study. You should divide the syllabus into different parts - subject-wise. Focus on enhancing your strengths and working on your weak areas. You should also set your daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
3 Time Management
It is essential to manage your time effectively and judiciously while preparing for the exams. Dedicating the entire time to one subject and skipping the other vital subjects might lower your score. Similarly, balance time between learning new concepts and re-visiting the old ones.
4 Work on Your Basics First
You should focus on building a strong foundation first. Before attempting to solve difficult questions, be confident that your basics are clear. Avoid rote learning and strengthen your problem-solving and analytical skills.
5 Practice Test Paper
One of the most effective techniques to maximize your score and build a higher understanding of the concepts is to solve various practice papers. Create an exam-like environment by keeping a stopwatch near you. Taking timed mock tests improves your speed and accuracy. This will also help you identify and work on your weak areas.
6 Solve Smartly
There are some smart techniques to solve the paper. For example, solve those questions first that come from your strength area. So, if you are good at maths, solve the quantitative section first. This will boost your confidence and save more time for weak areas. You can also choose the priority based on the marks.
7 Revise the Paper
Double-check the answers if time allows. Revising the paper will help you correct careless mistakes.
8 Stay Confident and Positive on the Exam day.
It is important to avoid any stress and anxiety on the day of the exam. A positive mind boosts confidence and improves the output in the exam.
