The Stagecraft Club’s Workshop on “From Script to Stage” with Mr. Prabhakar Pawar

An enlightening workshop titled “From Script to Stage” was hosted by The Stagecraft Club at Indira University, conducted by the talented Mr. Prabhakar Pawar on 31st October 2025.

Mr. Pawar, a seasoned theatre professional, led students into the fascinating world of scene design and set construction, offering a glimpse into how imagination and precision come together to build the visual heartbeat of a performance. His insights highlighted how a well conceived set is not merely a background but an integral storyteller, shaping atmosphere, guiding emotion and giving life to every scene.

The workshop centered around key aspects of stage design, including interpreting scripts into scene layouts, understanding the essentials of set design; from layout, scale, color and symbolism, and the importance of collaboration across theatre crafts. Mr. Pawar also emphasized how design and construction breathe drama into life, turning creative visions into tangible, emotive spaces.

He encouraged students to view the stage as a canvas where light, texture and imagination merge to create experiences that linger long after the curtains fall.

For many students, the session was an eye-opener, revealing how the art of set design is a promising and meaningful career path, where artistic expression meets technical mastery.

At Indira University, creativity forms the cornerstone of learning. The institution continues to nurture spaces where ideas take shape and students are encouraged to pursue unconventional paths that align with their creative potential. Having Mr. Pawar share his knowledge and experience was an enriching opportunity, reminding everyone that when creativity meets craft, every stage becomes a story waiting to unfold.

The session concluded with inspired minds and imaginative sketches, as students left with a renewed energy and ready to bring scripts to life!
