Learning From Wildlife by Mr. Sanjay Deshpande - The Wild Ones Club

Indira University had a truly enriching experience as The Wild Ones Club hosted yet another meaningful session, a space where curiosity and awareness came together. The name of the club itself signifies something deeper: young minds who are unafraid to explore new perspectives, question norms and understand the world beyond what meets the eye. And this session captured exactly that spirit.

On 18th November 2025, Indira Universe Campus welcomed students for Learning From Wildlife, a special interaction with Mr. Sanjay Deshpande, a name respected across India for his work in environmental architecture, conservation and sustainable development.

An environmentalist architect, a conservation advocate, and a pioneer in eco-friendly housing, Mr. Deshpande has spent decades designing water-saving systems for drought-hit regions, supporting tiger reserves like Tadoba, Kanha, and Pench, and leading rainwater harvesting initiatives across the country. His journey itself felt like a lesson, one shaped by passion and a constant effort to coexist with nature.

The atmosphere carried a sense of anticipation, the kind that comes when everyone knows something valuable is about to be shared.

As the session began, Mr. Deshpande walked the students through the intricate connection between wildlife and sustainable living, showing how every species, from the smallest insect to the largest predator plays a role that affects human life more directly than most realize. He shared how architecture can be designed to support ecosystems rather than disrupt them and how thoughtful planning naturally aligns with long-term conservation.

His insights on eco-friendly design and CSR for nature resonated deeply. But what truly stayed with the students were the lessons rooted in empathy, understanding before acting, observing before judging, and valuing every element of the environment as part of a larger story.

Wildlife, he said, teaches leadership, discipline, patience, and coexistence. The kind of qualities that humans often forget but desperately need.

Throughout the talk, students listened with an attentiveness that spoke volumes and absorbed perspectives.Β

By the end, The Wild Ones Club had once again proved why learning at Indira University feels different. And this session reminded everyone that inspiration often comes from the most unexpected teachers: the wild, the natural, the powerful.
